I am assistant professor within the Molecular Materials and Nanosystems group, my work work focusses on the optimization and characterization of solution processed solar cells.

I studied at Twente University, where I graduated on liquid membranes in the area of supramolecular chemistry. During his civil service I worked for the Koningin Wilhelmina Fonds (KWF) on the scale-up of the synthesis of heterocyclic chemotherapeutic analogues. In 1997 I completed my PhD at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) working on the synthesis and characterization of high-spin organic molecules. After a brief postdoctoral position, investigating holographic patterning of liquid crystalline polymers at Philips Natlab, I joined the Energy Research Center the Netherlands (ECN) to work on the application of organic semiconducting materials in thin film solar cells. In 2002 I returned to academia and TU/e, initially as DPI (Dutch Polymer Institute) fellow to be appointed assistant professor in 2007.
